Billie Eilish Sports A Trophy Vintage Michael Jordan Jersey On Stage

Billie Eilish’s personal style is multifaceted, to say the least. However, the star has a strong preference for gothic-inspired all-black ensembles with relaxed, slouchy silhouettes, often blended with streetwear elements. Her latest on stage look perfectly exemplifies her striking and individual approach to fashion, but she also added a retro twist via a rare collector’s item.

At the opening night of the Lollapalooza music festival in Chicago, the pop sensation referenced the city’s history and culture, paying tribute to the legendary basketball player Michael Jordan. She wore a black and red vintage #23 Chicago Bulls jersey – an exact replica of one of Jordan’s iconic team jerseys from the 1998 NBA finals. (She even dyed her hair in matching red and black to complement the look.) Completing her ensemble were matching oversized black and white basketball shorts, a long-sleeved black top, black and white socks, and a pair of Air Jordan trainers – another nod to the sports icon. Of course, she accessorised her basketball look with her signature layers of silver chain jewellery and black square-frame shades.

Vintage Michael Jordan jerseys are some of the most sought-after items in sportswear history. Consignment sites like Grailed, StockX and Fanatics have carried pieces that have ranged in value from from £150-£15,000, depending on the condition and significance of the item. Last year, one of his jerseys that he wore in the first game of the 1998 NBA Finals sold for a record-breaking $10.1 million (£7.95 million).
